Asahi Rubber was named after our dream to grow like the rising sun over the ocean. Moreover, since it starts with the first letter in the Japanese alphabet, the name also has the advantage of appearing earlier and being more conspicuous on company lists written in Japanese alphabetical order.
It was designed based on a combination of the company name, “the rising sun” and the letter “a.” The “a” part expresses waves of the vast ocean, and the color of the logo is passionate red associated with the rising sun.
When the company was established, it leased a factory in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture. However, wishing to construct the company’s own plant, our founder, President Ito, recommended the present Izumizakimura Industrial Complex close to his hometown of Motomiya City, Fukushima Prefecture.
In September 1998, we were registered over-the-counter with the Japan Securities Dealers Association (now JASDAQ Securities Exchange).
In December 2004, the company’s registration with the JASDAQ Securities Exchange was canceled, and the stocks were listed on the JASDAQ Securities Exchange.
In April 2010, due to the merger between the JASDAQ Securities Exchange and the Osaka Securities Exchange, the stocks were listed on the Osaka Securities Exchange JASDAQ.
In July 2013, following the integration of the Tokyo Stock Exchange and the Osaka Securities Exchange, the stocks were listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange JASDAQ (Standard).
In July 2022, as part of the Tokyo Stock Exchange’s market classification review, the stocks transitioned from Tokyo Stock Exchange’s JASDAQ (Standard) to the Standard Market.
